Everything teams ask before their first RVTools export review.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. You only need RVTools itself (a free third-party community tool) to generate the .xlsx export in your own environment. We work from that file and never install anything on your infrastructure.
Are you affiliated with RVTools or VMware?+
No. ClearVM Advisory is an independent consultancy. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Robware, Broadcom, VMware, or the RVTools project. We reference "RVTools" only descriptively, to explain the file format we analyse.
What exactly will I receive?+
A written summary ranking findings by operational risk (capacity, licensing exposure, snapshot hygiene, drift), plus a live walkthrough call for paid reviews.
How is my export handled?+
Files are used only to produce your report and are deleted within 30 days unless you ask us to keep them longer. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How long does a review take?+
Free scoping calls are usually scheduled within a few business days, and paid deep reviews get an estimated delivery date once we've seen the size of your export.
Can you fix issues directly in my environment?+
We are advisory only. We tell you what we found and recommend fixes; your own team or your VMware administrator applies changes in vCenter.
What if I disagree with a finding?+
Every report includes the raw data points behind each finding so your team can verify it independently. Tell us and we will revisit it together on the call.
